COPAC PRODUCES IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS IN PREPARATION FOR DRAFTING
The process of preparing for the actual drafting of the new constitution for Zimbabwe has gathered momentum. There has been agreement on the identity of all the constitutional issues that came from the people of Zimbabwe. Both the constitutional framework and constitutional principles are in the process of being finalized and wide consultations with stakeholders are in progress.
Currently the Technical Committee made up of constitutional experts is working on the final extraction of the final issues to be included in the constitution. This process is expected to be completed tomorrow. Once the constitutional issues have been agreed, the process of the actual drafting will commence. Minister Matinenga is in the process of inviting the lead drafters for the process.
