Logo Rationale

The Logo is heavily influenced by the core objectives of the Constitution Select Committee and its mandate to come up with the New Constitution for Zimbabwe.

The Human Figure
The design is an archetypal symbol inspired by the curves of the human figure and the endless flexibility symbolical of curves. A people centred service requires ultimate flexibility to deliver its promises. The symbol is executed in an abstract way of easy recognition. Abstract symbols are timeless and they carry a story, our grandfathers made abstract symbols on rocks and the symbols have become our heritage. We understand their story and their way of life through abstract marks on rocks.

The curve represents Zimbabweans coming from all walks of life to air their views for a common good. The people are driving the constitution making process.

The blue circle represents the head of a human being while at the same time it also represents the New Zimbabwean Constitution being driven by the curves.

The Zimbabwe Bird and the Black Circle
The bird represents that the process is home grown and it a Zimbabwean process by Zimbabweans for Zimbabweans. The black circle represents the encompassing and inclusion of all Zimbabweans in the process.

Colours
There is considerable use of blue in the logo and colours from the national flag. Blue is a calm, stable colour that exhumes confidence, peace and tranquillity. In the hunting and gathering era, a blue sky signified a good hunting day. People should have confidence in the constitution and its capacity to carry and safeguard their views and opinions. Our national colours in the logo affirm our independent ability to formulate solutions without any compromise. The mixture of colours shows that the process takes views from people coming from different walks of life.
